My areas of specialization are working with adults with Anxiety-related disorders such as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Body Dysmorphia, and gender identity (dysphoria) issues.
I use a direct but empathetic approach to best motivate my clients for what their goals are in therapy. I believe therapy is best utilized when the client feels empowered throughout the process. To me, therapy is meant to be collaborative and challenging in order to see the results that you are looking for. I tailor treatment to the goals that are expressed and the potential of the client. I utilize skills from Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I come from a logo-therapeutic (existential) orientation that aims to empower the client to allow them to face whatever is before them. Utilizing my skills with my logo-therapeutic orientation allows for a productive and collaborative therapeutic experience.
I have experience working at Eating Recovery Center in which I utilized skills to assist individuals with Binge Eating, Anorexia, and Anxiety Disorders. I have worked at the PHP and the Residential level of treatment. By working at these levels along with classic outpatient care I have been able to establish great rapport with clients while being effective in their wellness journey.
I am continuing education with a Masters in Organizational Psychology as I understand that change comes from the individual experience while recognizing that systemic influences impact us in a profound way. I aim to challenge a client individually while helping them be the most productive outside of the therapy office.
